Price in Australian dollars. Your card is charged in your own currency at the checkout's rate.
On your card statement it appears as PADDLE.NET* TOBSY: Paddle, in London, takes the payment for us. Some Australian cards add a small international-transaction fee on top. That is the bank’s charge, and we would rather you knew before than after.
Why one payment
Subscriptions pay for servers. Tobsy keeps none for your data.
A subscription makes sense when a company holds your data and pays to keep it. Yours is in your own Drive, so there is nothing of yours for us to keep, and nothing to charge you for each month. The one small server we run holds your email and your key, so a trial can end and a purchase stays yours.
Just curious?
Look around first.
The demo is the real app with fourteen months of sample entries: every screen, nothing to set up.
Questions
The things people ask first.
Is Tobsy a budgeting app?
No. A budget is a rule you set in advance and then get told off for breaking. Tobsy is about awareness: it shows you, calmly and honestly, where your money actually goes — and what you kept. If you want a target, you can set an intention for a category, and Tobsy tells you where you sit against it without scolding.
Do I need a Google account?
Yes. Tobsy lives in a Google Sheet in your own Drive, so you need a Google account. A free one is fine. Tobsy asks for permission to work in that one spreadsheet and nothing else.
Does it connect to my bank?
No. Entering a purchase yourself is the point — it takes a few taps and it's the moment you notice. For catching up, you can paste a statement or import a screenshot from your banking app, review the rows, and bring them in. Nothing reaches your ledger without you looking at it first.
What happens on day thirty-one?
The app stops — properly stops, not a banner over a working app — and asks to be paid for. Everything you entered is still in your sheet, and you can download all of it whether you pay or not. Paying takes about a minute and puts you back exactly where you were.
What does the trial leave out?
Nothing. Every screen, every import, every report. The only difference is one calm line in Settings counting the days.
Can the whole household use it?
Yes. One copy holds up to six people, and any two of them can share a household. Shared costs are split the way you choose, each of you sees your own share, and Tobsy keeps track of who fronted what so you can settle up. Income stays personal — a household has no income of its own, only the sum of yours.
Which currencies and countries?
Any currency. Pick a base currency, and record foreign spending in its own currency with the rate frozen on the day. Dates and numbers follow your country's formatting. The app speaks English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, German, Dutch and French; this website is in English.
What if Tobsy disappears?
Your key does not expire, and your sheet is yours: every entry stays readable and downloadable with no Tobsy at all. The app itself does lean on two things we run, a small piece of code your copy talks to and the website the app loads from. If Tobsy shut down, we would publish both so existing copies keep working without us; the sheet is the part that survives anything.
What if I want a refund?
Ask within 14 days and we'll refund it — no explaining, no arguing. The receipt email from Paddle links to paddle.net, where you can do it yourself, or write to [email protected] and we'll do it from our end. A refund stops the app the next time it's opened; your sheet and your data stay yours, and you can still download everything. The terms say the same in slightly longer words.
Can I get my data out?
Yes. It's a spreadsheet — open it in Google Sheets any time. Inside the app, Export gives you everything as a file, and the monthly and analysis reports print to PDF. Nothing is locked in, including after the trial ends.
